United Make First Big Signing

Manchester United have started the summer signings by securing the signature of Shinji Kagawa from, Borussia Dortmund.

The playmaker, who plays in an attacking midfield role, has been bought for £12million but it is thought that the figure will rise by up to 5 million if Kagawa’s performance related bonus’ are activated.

Dortmund have had a great season, winning a league and cup double, with their talismanic midfielder scoring 13 goals in 31 appearances in that run.

Kagawa also holds a huge commercial value for United, he is a Japanese international. Manchester United make billions in Asia every year and this signing truly is one that will pay for itself.

However United are denying the player was signed just to boost profits, claiming that all members of their elite 25 man squad are crucial to their success.

Will United now cool their interest in Luka Modric or will they attempt to add to their collection of new players?
